THE HEART OF COPENHAGEN

A city made for exploring on foot

Copenhagen is a city of contrasts – historic and modern, classic and creative, calm and lively – all within walking distance. On a personal walk with a local, you’ll discover more than guidebooks can show you. We explore at your pace, follow your interests and make time for the places and stories that matter to you.

This is your walk – your way.

EXPLORE COPENHAGEN YOUR WAY

There is more to Copenhagen than a list of sights.

Take time to notice the streets, buildings and everyday city life between the famous landmarks. Ask questions, change direction or stop somewhere that catches your interest.

No fixed route. No rush.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPERIENCE?

History, architecture and everyday Copenhagen

Copenhagen reveals itself in the details. Historic buildings stand beside contemporary architecture, quiet streets open onto busy squares, and canals connect neighbourhoods shaped by centuries of city life. As we walk, we can explore the stories behind the places we pass – or simply talk about Copenhagen today: how people live, work and move around the city. Depending on your interests, our conversation might include Danish history, architecture, the monarchy, urban development, bicycles, language, culture or everyday life.

You decide what we spend time on.

Plan your Copenhagen walk

AN EXAMPLE WALK

Two hours through central Copenhagen

We might meet around Kongens Nytorv and begin by exploring some of the historic streets in the old city centre.

From here, we could continue through squares and narrow streets towards Christiansborg and the canals. Along the way, we stop where something is worth a closer look – a building, a courtyard, a view or simply something happening in the city.

There is time to talk about Copenhagen's history and architecture, but also about everyday life in Denmark, bicycles, language, culture or whatever you are curious about.

We might finish near the waterfront or another central location from where you can easily continue exploring Copenhagen on your own.

The route is only an example. Your walk will depend on your interests, the weather and what is happening in the city that day.
