Carreer Opportunities in International Organizations

For candidates and final-year students

In May 2026, we organized an event for students and academics through the French Alumni Network at the University of Copenhagen (Department of English, Germanic and Romance Studies – ENGEROM).

We invited a Talent Acquisition specialist from UNDP, as well as current interns, to present career opportunities within international organizations. Participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences, ask questions, and gain practical insights into working in an international environment.

Having previously worked within an international organization in UN City Copenhagen, I am aware that many vacancies are not advertised locally but are instead published on specialized international recruitment platforms. One of the objectives of the event was therefore to raise awareness of these opportunities. The event was aimed at alumni and, in particular, final-year students and recent graduates.

We wanted to highlight the wide range of career paths available within international organizations, including both internships and professional positions. Internships often serve as an important stepping stone toward long-term employment and international careers.

Many students and graduates already possess the language skills, intercultural competencies, and academic qualifications sought by international organizations. For them, this can represent an exciting opportunity to pursue a rewarding international career and explore new professional horizons.

Exploring career opportunities within international organizations can be highly beneficial for both employers and candidates, helping organizations attract talented professionals while providing graduates with meaningful and globally oriented career prospects.
